Postgraduate student graduating in academic gown and holding a certificate

Learn to Use AI for Your Postgraduate Studies.

A 4-week programme for Masters and PhD students who want to use AI properly, without compromising academic integrity.

Built with real university communities, not borrowed credibility.

Researchers in our cohorts have come from universities in Kenya, Ghana and Scotland. The University of Nairobi is our strongest partner relationship. If your university wants its own academic and administrative staff trained, see AI training for universities, colleges and schools.

That mix helps. People from different universities bring different supervisors, rules and research problems, so the questions in class get sharper for everyone.

Why do postgraduate students struggle with their theses?

Most postgraduate students who stall are stuck on the mechanics of research: finding the right literature, keeping citations in order, structuring the dissertation and writing consistently while the deadline gets closer. These skills are rarely taught step by step, so students end up isolated, confused and graduating later than planned. That's the gap FuKazee works on.

Often the fix is a better toolset. Used well, AI does in minutes what used to take weeks. Used carelessly, it wastes your time or puts your degree at risk. ScholarShift Accelerator teaches you to use it well.

What postgrads usually tell us first

  • “I know I should be moving faster but I keep getting stuck.”
  • “I use ChatGPT, but I know I am leaving a lot on the table.”
  • “I need ethical ways to use AI without risking my degree.”
  • “I want a system that works for my specific research workflow.”

Drowning in papers

You've downloaded more papers than you can read, and you still can't tell which ones matter or how they connect.

References everywhere

You're reading a lot, but your notes and references are scattered, and you've stopped trusting your own system.

Draft back again

Your supervisor sends the draft back. Then sends it back again. Each round pushes your timeline out and chips at your confidence.

Everything you need to research smarter, not slower.

Six practical modules, each aimed at a problem postgraduate students hit every week. You practise on your own topic, so the work you do in class moves your thesis forward too.
01

AI Ethics in Academia

Use AI without getting flagged. Learn how to cite it, disclose it and stay inside your university's rules.

02

Prompt Engineering

Learn the Four C's and CRAFT frameworks, so your prompts give you precise output you can actually use in research.

03

Literature Reviews in Hours

Search, map and synthesise sources much faster with SciSpace, LitMaps, NotebookLM and Zotero.

04

Citation Management and Research Organisation

Set up Zotero and a simple system for your sources, notes and references, so nothing goes missing at submission.

05

Academic Writing and Defence

Get AI feedback on structure and clarity, then build your presentation in Canva before you submit and defend.

06

Custom Research Assistants

Build your own AI assistant in AI Studio or Gems, set up with prompts you can reuse on your own workflow.

Week by week. Step by step. Built for actual progress.

Most people arrive with a few scattered ChatGPT experiments. You leave with a research workflow you can rely on, and keep using long after the cohort ends.

One focused month to change how you do research.

Each week has one theme, practical exercises and tools you can use straight away on your own topic, paper, proposal or thesis.

  • Live classes on Google Meet, Monday to Thursday evenings
  • An in-person meetup each weekend, on Saturday or Sunday
  • Every session recorded, in case you miss one
  • Guest speakers now and then, when they add something

Week 1: AI Foundations

Start with what responsible AI use looks like in academic work.

  • Write better prompts while staying aware of plagiarism and AI-detection concerns.
  • See where large language models genuinely help serious postgraduate work.
  • Learn when to reach for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or similar tools, and why.
  • Meet in person on Saturday or Sunday to apply the week's work, talk it through and meet other researchers.

Week 2: Research Tools

Map AI onto each stage of your research, from early thinking to drafting.

  • Use NotebookLM to read across many documents at once and think more clearly with your sources.
  • Find, compare and shortlist papers with the search tools every postgrad should know.
  • Get through papers faster and build a cleaner review process.
  • Bring the week's work to the weekend session and ask the harder questions in person.

Week 3: Finishing Strong

A hands-on session that pulls your review workflow together with the tools from the first two weeks.

  • Manage references properly, so citations stop being a headache.
  • Run the citation system on your own work until it feels routine.
  • Turn your ideas into clear slides for proposals, presentations and your thesis defence.
  • Workspace time to tighten your literature review and citations.

Week 4: Wrap-Up and Review

Another build session, so you leave with a presentation workflow you can repeat.

  • Pull the four weeks together, review your workflow and leave knowing exactly what to do next.
  • Rodney may bring in guest speakers where an outside view helps the cohort.

Designed for busy postgraduate schedules.

You don't need to live in Nairobi or take time off work. Classes start at 8:00 PM, and every one of them is recorded.

Live Online Sessions

Monday to Thursday, 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM on Google Meet. Every session is recorded and stays available for one year.

Physical Workspaces

Weekend sessions in person at 124 Manyani East Road, Nairobi, where you apply the week's work. If you're outside Nairobi, a virtual session runs in parallel.

Ask before you pay

Questions serious postgrad students usually ask first.

The questions we hear most often before someone joins a cohort.

Where can postgraduate students get AI training in Kenya?

FuKazee's ScholarShift Accelerator is a 4-week AI training cohort for Masters and PhD students: live classes on Google Meet, Monday to Thursday evenings, plus weekend meetups in Nairobi. It covers AI ethics, prompting, literature reviews, Zotero, academic writing and building your own research assistant. Researchers from universities in Kenya, Ghana and Scotland have taken part.

When is the next cohort?

The October 2026 cohort starts on Monday 26 October. The next one is planned for late January 2027, after the university exam period. Message us on WhatsApp to be told first when the dates are set.

I already use ChatGPT. Is this still for me?

Yes. Casual ChatGPT use is only the start. ScholarShift Accelerator teaches research workflows, specialised tools, advanced prompting, ethics and custom AI assistants, which most postgraduate students have never set up properly.

I am not in Nairobi. Can I still join?

Yes. The programme works fully online. Weekend workshops have a virtual option running in parallel for learners outside Nairobi or outside Kenya.

I work or have family commitments. Will I miss out?

Classes run in the evening, from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Every session is recorded, so if work, research or family keeps you from a live class, you can catch up.

Are these tools ethical and allowed by universities?

Yes. Academic integrity is a core part of the programme. We teach citation, transparency, journal guidelines and responsible AI use explicitly.

Is there personal support?

Yes. There's live Q&A in every session, recordings of anything you miss, and direct access to Rodney throughout the 4-week programme.

Can I pay in installments?

Yes. Pay KSh 10,000 upfront and KSh 10,000 midway through the programme.

Is this only for academics?

The programme is built around postgraduate research, but the AI and prompt-engineering skills carry over to consulting, strategy, policy, writing and other professional work.

Your research is too important to be slowed by bad tools.

Join the next ScholarShift Accelerator cohort. Four weeks of evenings, and you come out with an AI research workflow you can use for the rest of your thesis.
