What we collect when you use fukazee.com, why we collect it, who else handles it, and how to get it corrected or deleted.
Who we are
This site is run by FuKazee Limited (“FuKazee”, “we”), Hack House Africa, 124 Manyani East Road, Nairobi, Kenya. For anything in this policy, email lead@fukazee.com or call 0114 469 840.
What we collect
We only collect what you type in, what you choose in a quiz, and a few details about how you reached the site.
- Contact details you enter: your name, phone (WhatsApp) number and email address, and, on some forms, your organisation, your role or your university.
- Quiz answers and results: the answers you choose in our quizzes and checks (for example your sector, team size, current grade or subjects), and the result or recommendation we showed you.
- How you found us: campaign details from the link you clicked, such as utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term and utm_content, and ad click IDs such as fbclid (Facebook and Instagram), gclid (Google) and ttclid (TikTok). We also note the page you landed on and the site that sent you. These are kept in your browser for that visit and attached to any form you send.
- Orders:when you pay, we receive the amount, what you bought, a payment reference and the name, phone number and email you gave. Paystack handles the card or M-PESA payment itself, so we don’t receive your card number or your M-PESA PIN.
- Site activity: simple events such as starting or finishing a quiz, opening checkout or tapping a WhatsApp button. These are used to measure how the site and our adverts perform.
Why we use it
- To show and send you the result of a quiz or check you completed.
- To follow up with you about the programme or service you asked about, by WhatsApp, phone or email.
- To process your order and deliver what you paid for, such as study plan downloads, a webinar seat or a cohort place.
- To understand which pages and adverts lead to enquiries.
- To keep the payment records we need for accounting and tax.
We don’t sell your details.
Who else handles your data
- Paystack processes payments made on the site, by card or M-PESA prompt. Your payment details go to Paystack under its own privacy policy.
- WhatsAppcarries your message when you choose to chat with us there. WhatsApp is run by Meta and your chat is covered by WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy.
- Google Tag Manager and the Meta Pixel are used to measure our advertising once they are switched on for the site. When they are on, Google and Meta may set cookies and receive information about your visit, such as the pages you viewed and events like finishing a quiz.
- YouTube plays our video testimonials. A video only loads from YouTube when you press play.
Cookies and browser storage
The campaign details described above are kept in your browser’s session storage and are cleared when you close the tab. Once Google Tag Manager or the Meta Pixel are switched on, those services may set their own cookies. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the site still works without them.
How long we keep it
We keep your details for as long as we need them for the reasons above: while we are following up about the programme you asked about, and for as long as the law requires us to keep payment and accounting records. When you ask us to delete your details, we do, unless the law requires us to keep a record.
Your rights under the Data Protection Act, 2019
Under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019, you can:
- ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it (access);
- ask us to correct details that are wrong or out of date (correction);
- ask us to delete your details (deletion);
- ask us to stop contacting you about our programmes.
How to use your rights
Email lead@fukazee.comand tell us what you want: a copy, a correction or deletion. Include the phone number or email you used on the site so we can find your details. We may ask you to confirm it’s you before we act. If you’re not happy with how we handle your request, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya.
Children
Some of our programmes are for school students and school leavers. If you’re under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to fill in the form with you or for you.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Questions about anything here? Contact us.
